June 2020 Tanglewood Lake Community HOA Update
Post date: Jun 15, 2020 12:47:52 PM
It is with great pleasure that we are announcing the beach will be staffed with lifeguards starting Saturday, June 13th, 2020. Lifeguards will be staffed Monday through Friday from 12 pm-7 pm and Saturday/Sunday from 11 am-7 pm. While using the beach it is imperative we, as a community, follow the Ohio Department of Health’s guidelines for social distancing to help prevent the potential spread of COVID-19. In order to do our part, the Board of Trustees has increased the cleanings of the Port-O-Potties to twice a week and have added a sanitation station to the beach area for washing hands. We have had to turn off the drinking fountain to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. We ask that all members bring their own drinking water (no glass containers are permitted at the beach), and additional hand sanitizer to help the situation so we may all enjoy our beautiful landscape.
In addition to the above measures, we will require all members and guests to sign a liability waiver to use the facilities. Parents or guardians must sign the waiver for children to use the beach area. Waivers signed by a sitter or nanny on behalf of the child will not be accepted. As a reminder, all children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Children ages 13 – 17 must provide a waiver signed by their parent or guardian in order to attend the beach area. The waiver is attached for your review. You may drop the signed waiver off to the Grounds Manager or email it to email@example.com.
We will have a Grounds Manager staffed from 2 pm-8 pm to check for completed waivers and provide wristbands for those who have signed the form. I understand this is not the most ideal situation but in order to minimize the community’s liability, these are necessary steps. If the grounds manager is not at the beach the staffed lifeguards will be checking as time permits.
We are doing everything we can to ensure our community is able to enjoy the facilities while minimizing the communities’ liabilities. Thank you to everyone in the community and I hope to see you all at the beach.
A couple of reminders:
Lifeguards are at the beach to help prevent a tragedy. Swimming is still at your own risk.
To swim in the deep water a swim test is conducted during the rest period. Please ask a lifeguard to administer the test if you are 13 years old or under, you must be able to pass the swim test without a life vest. Children under 18 are considered at-risk swimmers and may be asked to take a swim test at the discretion of the lifeguard. Lifeguards have the final say on any child under 18 that they may deem to be too risky to swim in the deep area, whether they have passed the test or not.
Bring water with you as the drinking fountain has been turned off due to COVID-19.
Fishing from the beach and island are prohibited. Fishing from the new dock is permitted.
Within the next few weeks, the upper tennis courts (next to the basketball courts) will be undergoing extensive repairs for two weeks to bring them back to top playing caliber. If possible, we will have the nets installed on the lower courts by the pavilion.
The updates to the pavilion will be done within the next 3-5 weeks. At that time, we will open the pavilion up for rentals. We will send a communication through email to all residents once reservations will be taken.
We hope you are safe, healthy, and will enjoy our facilities to make this a great summer in Tanglewood!
