ACTIVITIES

There's always something going on at Tanglewood! The following activities happen throughout the year. Check the Calendar of Events for specific dates.
FALL SEMESTER


Fall Fundraiser - one of our two major fundraisers for the school.

Carnival - a night of fun activities for all ages.  Plan to come out and enjoy seeing all the Tanglewood Families. 


Book Fair - Students have an opportunity to purchase books and support the library!

Storybook Parade - Students dress as their favorite character from a book and parade through the park (fingers crossed for good weather) for this special tradition. 

Holiday Class Parties - the students are able to have a small celebration before leaving for Winter Break.


 
Being a good citizen has it's rewards!
Participation in school and school-related activities is an excellent way for a student to develop talents, receive individual recognition, and build strong friendships with other students; participation, however, is a privilege, not a right.
SPRING SEMESTER

Valentine's Day Class Parties - The students exchange Valentines and have a great time with their classmates.

Auction - Our big Spring fundraiser, families of Tanglewood students enjoy a fun, adults only evening while benefiting the school.

Spelling Bee - Students compete in a Spelling Bee.

Fine Arts Day - AKA Artapalooza - The students psend the day learning about the Arts, from dancing to cooking and writing a song to woodworking and much more.

Field Day - students compete in a variety of outdoor athletic ompetitions.

UIL - Students form teams and compete in different areas from storytelling to math.

YEAR ROUND

After School Enrichment - Classes vary each semester, but there is always something for everyone.

Clayton YES Program - An onsite before and after school program for working parents.

5th Grade Activities - It's a special year and the 5th graders are kept busy organizing community service projects, going to Camp Carter, and of course, the Wizard of Oz Trails.

POPS - Parents on the Playground - parents serve as an extra set of eyes at K-2 recess.

Science Lab - for grades K-2, parents help the students discover the joys of the world around them.
Visiting Authors - Students enjoy visits from visiting authors in the library throughout the year.
