A Happy New Year to all of you! This is just a reminder that we will hold our monthly meeting a week from Thursday, January 12th, at the Governor Martin House on Lafayette Street -- 6:30 p.m. "Meet and Greet" and 7:00 p.m. our program begins.
We have had a change in programs this month, and I believe you'll thoroughly enjoy what we have in store for you. Our speaker will be Doyle Conner, Jr., one of Florida's foremost "Cracker Historians"!
Doyle is the Curator of the Florida Agriculture Museum , a sixth generation Floridian and also the son of the late Doyle Conner, Sr.,
who served as Florida's Agriculture Commissioner for many years.
Doyle is sure to be a fascinating speaker. He has been described as "an engaging poet, singer and storyteller" ! His topic? "Florida's History on the Hoof" ! -- based on his years of study and interest in the Florida cowboy -- from Spanish times to present. You can bet we'll have a packed house. Come early!
Best historical regards,
Dave Lang, Pres.
