Difference Makers

Difference Makers is a student run club that works to improve our community and school.
It is run by student officers, and Mr. Goehring is the sponser.
Difference Makers does many events to help out, such as:
  • UNICEF Collection: Students at TPMS are encouraged to ask for money instead of treats when trick-or-treating during Halloween. The money is put into a small cardboard box, and delivered to Difference Makers at school. Money collected goes to help children get education and educating materials in undeveloped countries.
  • Make A Difference Day: Students collect litter from the woods, repaint water drains, collect food, clothes, and books, have a bike drive, make bird houses, and spread out the word in the community to help save the environment.
  • Special Olympics: Students volunteer at Special Olympics, an Olympic-type competition where people (ranging from 8 to 80 years old) with intellectual disabilities compete in different sports against each other. Volunteers will help serve food, keep score, hand out medallions, and more.
  • C&O Canal: Students go to the C&O Canal at the border between Maryland and Virginia, where they help spread mulch, clean up the trail, scrub off words on the railing, and maintain a clean environment.
