Research Group of Traffic Pollution and Human Health

Our research emphasizes on how traffic pollution (e.g. noise, air pollutants) affects human chronic diseases, particularly focusing on cardiovascular diseases, mental illness, and cancer. We primarily utilize observational studies to evaluate exposure-diseases association. Specifically, we utilize the causal mediation model to evaluate the association of environmental pollutants with diseases.  In addition, we utilize different types of noise meter (e.g. Class-1/2 noise meter, spectrum analyzer) along with low-cost noise sensor to build-up environmental noise map as well as personal long-term noise exposure levels in Taiwan.

Currently our research focus on the following areas:

1. Evaluate the interplay of traffic exposure, pollution, and human chronic diseases.

2. Utilize classical and low-cost noise sensors to build-up environmental and personal noise exposure map.
