PERSONAL OVERVIEW

My name is Md. Toukir Ahmed, and welcome to my personal website. I earned my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) on February 25, 2017. I have successfully completed my Ph.D. in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering under the Grainger College of Engineering (#7 ranked according to USNews 2025) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), with a concentration in Data Science & Engineering (DSE). I worked as a graduate research assistant at IOSNEL, UIUC (Fall 21- Spring 25). Currently, I am working as an assistant professor in the Department of CSE at Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST). My research focuses on machine learning, image processing, hyperspectral imaging, image reconstruction, spectroscopy, bioinformatics, natural language processing, and explainable artificial intelligence.
