Last September 1 and 2, the Lions District 301-B2 held its First District Convention meeting at Harolds Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City. Tagbilaran City Host Lions Club sent official delegates Lions Ammon Tirol, Raul Ingles, and Priscilla Richards. The said event had Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama as Keynote Speaker during the opening ceremony who shared his insights on how to serve the public unselfishly. His record of clean governance made his message credible and inspiring. Attending the convention were more than 150 Lion delegates coming from the different clubs of Siquijor, Leyte, Cebu, Bohol and Ormoc. Later that evening was the Fellowship Night held at PAGCOR Teatro Casino at Waterfront Lahug with the delegates dressed in Hawaiian attire.

On the second day of the convention was the seminar on web reporting and a refresher on the responsibilities and roles of the key officers of the club with Cebu Council Chairman Junjie Piamonte as resource person. The new features of the Lions International website were shown to the seminar attendees. Following the seminar was the Governor's Ball which was attended by several Lion dignitaries in attendance among them were Sate Council Chairman Roberto Laurel PMJF and Michael So 451PMJF.

During the ball several awards were received by Tagbilaran City Host Lions Club, two as Most Outstanding Club for LY 2011-2012 and an award for Growth. Immediate Past President George Lim was also presented his Melvin Jones Fellowship pin and plaque in recognition of his contribution to the Lions Club International Foundation. Bohol Island Lions Club and the Bohol Dagohoy Lions Club also received awards.

District Governor Manolo Lao in his message expounded on the district theme of "We M.U.S.T. in Year 3" with M for membership, U for Unity, S for Service, and T for Teamwork. He mentioned as an example of unity in service the distribution of relief assistance for the Buhawi victims in Jagna last August 29 by the five Lions clubs of Bohol. He also cited the growing membership of Lions District 301-B2 with the addition of the Bohol Talibon CPG Lions Club, Siquijor El Fuego Lions Club, and the Ormoc Ultimate Lions Club.

The next District convention will be in Tacloban later this year to be followed by another convention in February 2013 which will be hosted by the Tagbilaran City Host Lions Club.
