How to jaibreak iPad 2, part 1

How to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 on the iPad 2

Actually iPad 2 owners had no real possibility to jailbreak during certain period of time. As may be you know it only had one jailbreak, which had some effects during a short portion of time in summer 2011, but it didn’t exist long.

Such state of affairs, however, has ended at last. Now iPad 2 owners can do untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1. As you remember it is the last version of iOS. For this purpose it is necessary to use the same tool which is called Absinthe as well as for iPhone 4S. This method can break protection which Apple provides for the A5 chip that powers both the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S. As this method uses an untethered jailbreak, there is no requirement (which can cause irritation) of tying to a personal computer after rebooting.

And now, let's have a look at the instructions for the iPad 2 Jailbreak.

1. Download the Absinthe tool for the Jailbreak.

You can download the Absinthe jailbreak tool for Mac here and for Windows PC here.

The package has a zip file, thus, it will be necessary to unzip it before taking further steps.

2. Make a backup copy of the iPad 2.

May be there is no need to do so, but meanwhile it is quite a good idea to make a backup before you try to do any kind of hacking on your device.

3. Start running the jailbreak tool.

At first, connect the iPad 2 to your personal computer via USB. Then open the Absinthe jailbreak tool. It should detect your device and show the button “jailbreak”. Click this button.

You will need to make some steps which are shown in screenshots below:
