Parent Code of Conduct

SYS Parent and Cheerleader Code of Conduct
The essential elements of character-building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. We will lead by example, and teach our young ladies how to carry themselves as Ladies on and off the field.

Parents code of conduct
  • I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in SYS by following this Parents’ Code of Ethics.
  • I (and my guest) will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice, or other SYS event.
  • I (and my guest) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing and taunting; refusing to shake hands, or using profane language or gestures.
  • I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win.
  • l will never ridicule or yell at my child or any other participant for making a mistake of losing a competition.
  • I will require that my child’s coach will be trained in the responsibilities of being an SYS coach and that the coach upholds the Coaches Code of Conduct.
  • I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
  • I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and will refrain from their use at all SYS events.
  • I will remember that the game is for youth, not adults.
  • I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child.
  • I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability.
  • I will help my child enjoy the SYS experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectful fan, assisting with coaching, or providing transportation.
  • I understand that all my questions and concerns that pertain to my child's coach will be addressed with the coach before involving the SYS board.
  • I understand that for every child I have registered to cheer with Sanger Youth Sports that myself or someone over the age of 15 will volunteer up to two hours in the concession stand.
  • I understand that If I don't fulfill my volunteer commitment that my child will be dismissed from participating in one home game.
  • I understand that SYS cheer is made up of all volunteers.
  • I do understand that I will abide by the Parents’ Code of Conduct, if I do not live up to the Parents’ Code of Conduct, I will be subject to disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to the following: verbal warning by official, coach, or SYS Board member; ejection from field or gym; parental game suspension; game forfeit; or season suspension with no refund of fees.

PARENTS EXPECTATIONS
  • No pass, No Play, is highly supported by the SYS Board, but at parent’s discretion.
