Coaches Code Of Conduct

The term “Coach” shall include, but is not limited to Head Coach, Assistant Coach (s), Manager, Trainer (s), or any other persons in a team leadership role.I will place the emotional and physical well being of my players ahead of my personal desire to win.

I will treat each player as an individual and expect age appropriate skills from all my players.

I will do my best to provide a safe playing situation for my players.

I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all my players on and off the field.

I will respect the decisions of referees and coaches.

I will remember that I am a youth sports coach and that the game is for children and not adults.

I will adhere to the Coaches Code of Conduct while participating in any SYS activity.

I will be knowledgeable in the rules of each sport that I coach and will teach these rules to my players.

The use of foul, abusive or unnecessarily loud language or any physical abuse directed towards

league officials, referees, coaches, and players will not be tolerated.  Verbal or physical abuse directed

towards any SYS participant by a parent, coach, or any other interested party may result in the removal of that

individual for the remainder of the game, practice or camp.  IN ADDITION, THAT INDIVIDUAL AND THE AFFECTED PLAYER MAY BE SUSPENDED FOR THE NEXT LEAGUE GAME. Also, the use of foul language or physical abuse toward any SYS participant will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken, including legal prosecution and permanent suspension from any SYS event. ALL SUSPENSIONS ARE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE SYS BOARD MEMBERS

*I do understand that I will abide by the above Code of Conduct, if I do not live up to the Coaches’ Code of Conduct, I will be banned from participating in SYS activities for a period of at least one year, at which time I can petition SYS for reinstatement.
