This students' conference was directed by Julia Wewers under the supervision of Prof. Uwe Seifert and hosted by the Institute of Musicology at the University of Cologne.

SysMus11 received submissions from 12 countries. All submissions were evaluated by an international review committee.
As in previous years, the conference featured papers and posters presented by Masters and PhD students of systematic musicology and related fields from all over the world, renowned keynote speakers, workshops as well as social activities.
