Wake on LAN/WAN application for Symbian Belle
Development ended! If anybody wants to carry on, let me know - contact is at the end of this page.
WakeOnLAN for Symbian Belle mobile phones is a simple tool which allows you to wake ethernet devices, such as computers, media centers, network storages, etc. from sleep, hibernation or stand by mode (soft turn off) over the LAN (Local area network) or WAN (Wide area network = internet).
* AppList is the recommended source of applications, because it has its own store application similar to the original Nokia Store application. It checks for updates automatically (also shows notifications in the widget) and allows you to browse and install new applications.

Wake on WAN/LAN capability
Wake on LAN
Most of the nowdays computers have Wake on LAN (WoL) functionality built-in, but not all of them have it enabled. To do so, set it according to this tutorial: http://www.howtogeek.com/70374/how-to-geek-explains-what-is-wake-on-lan-and-how-do-i-enable-it/
Wake on WAN
There are more requirements to make it working even over the internet - Wake on WAN (WoW), such as public IP address, forwarded ports and ARP binding on router. For more informatiation read http://www.pendlebury.biz/wolwoi or use Google.
