Kona Aquatics provides competition training for age group and masters swimmers in beautiful Kailua-Kona, Hawaii (the "Big Island") at the Kona Community Aquatic Center.  The Head Coach is Steve Borowski, a Level 5 coach (American Swimming Coaches Association) and Masters (USMS) world record holder.  Coach Borowski has achieved great success as both coach and competition swimmer and was inducted into the Hawaii swimming Halll of Fame in 2005. Currently, he is the Head Coach of  the Boys and Girls swim teams at Kealakehe High School on the Big Island (1999-present).

Coach Borowski trains three groups at the Kona Community Aquatic Center pool:

  • Red Team- training for age group swimmers with intermediate skills (on the way to advanced) in the four competitive strokes.  The red team practices from 3-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
  • White Team- training for age group swimmers with advanced stroke skills. The White team practices two hours per day, from 4-6 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Masters Swim Team- The Masters swimmers train three days per week-  Monday and Friday mornings starting at 6:15 a.m. and  Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.
  • Swimming 101- A class to improve adult swimming technique.  Wednesday mornings at 6:15 a.m.
Kona Aquatics swim team participates in swim meets across the state of Hawaii and sponsors both age group and masters meets at the Kona Community Aquatic Center.
