First and foremost, I'd like to apologize for our lack of updating. As our website is new this semester, we are not quite acclimated to the change.
As our semester drew to a close, we were required to complete much paperwork, as well as final projects and exams for classes. Luckily, we were still able to host meetings and events as the semester became busier and busier with finals. Since the last update, we held a 50/50 raffle, a SWE Collegiate Leadership Coaching Committee Seminar (CLCC), a donut breakfast, a trip to Newport, and a few meetings. Our 50/50 was profitable and fun, and it is extremely likely that this event will make a reappearance next semester. For the CLCC, a representative from SWE National came to RWU to help us strengthen our club and plan better events, so incoming freshmen: expect a few SWE goodies at the beginning of the semester! Our donut breakfast was profitable as well, and we also are planning to hold that fundraiser again. The trip to Newport hit a few snags and had low attendance, but that only means we need to pick a better date for everyone next time!
Since orientation is currently being held at RWU, I'd like to address all of the female engineers who are planning to attend our school. We'd like to welcome you in advance to SWE and encourage you to email us over the summer with questions, comments, or just to get to know us. I'd also like to invite you to join our Facebook group here and get to know some of the other girls you'll be spending time with during SWE. We're extremely excited to meet all of you, and we hope to hear from you soon! Our contact information is on the Contact Us page.
Have a great summer!
