March 23rd-27th
This year's basketball banquet will be held in our cafeteria on Sunday, April 19, and 2:00 pm. All players and cheerleaders attend free but MUST sign up. There will be a charge for all other attendees. Please pick up a banquet form from basketball coaches or Mrs. Taylor in the office.

Congratulations to the track team for their performance at their meet Tues. The girls were 4th overall and the boys 3rd. The girls 4 x 800 meter team was 1st, boys 4 x 200 were 2nd, girls 4 x 100 were 3rd, boys 4 x 100 were 1st, Matt Stiles was 3rd in triple jump, 2nd in 100 hurdles, and 2nd in 300 hurdles. Savannah McGuffey was  2nd in the 400 and 3rd in 200. Andrew Campbell was 2nd in the 200. In the 3200 meters, Olivia Fairweather was 3rd.

There will be a History Club meeting in Mrs. Cleveland's class at 2:50 on Tuesday.

Golf will start conditioning on Wednesday from 3:30-5:00. Attendance isn't required until July but we want to get all beginners started early. All golfers please meet Wednesday at Rainy Bay.

Anyone wanting to try out for the boys basketball team needs to stop by and see Coach Marie today.

Seniors- The Hiwassee College Participation form MUST BE turned in to your seminar teacher or Mr. Lowe or Mrs. Taylor by this Friday at 3:00 pm.

The last day to pre-order a yearbook for the 2014-2015 school year is Monday, March 23. Price is $55. Yearbooks may still be purchased but price will increase to $60 after spring break, and supplies will be limited.

Students just a reminder when the bell rings for dismissal and you report to the cafeteria if you go off campus you will not be allowed to come back on campus and ride bus. Once you leave campus you can NOT return.

March 2nd-23rd
Pre-sales for the 2014-2015 annual yearbook continue until Spring Break. The cost is $55, and will increase to $60 after Spring Break. Siblings can purchase 2 yearbooks for $90 
through April.

Jan. 26th-30th
There are several items of clothing and other articles that have been turned into the lost and found in the main office. If you have lost anything this school year, please check the lost and found for you item. We will be holding these items until Friday, January 30, after that they will be donated to Sweetwater Area Ministries.

Football players, cheerleaders and coaches: Get your free football banquet tickets from Mrs. Taylor before or after school in the cafeteria. Guest tickets are $10 each. We must have a head count by Wednesday. The football banquet will be at 5:30 p.m. this Saturday at the First United Methodist Church.

The first 150 current SHS students who come to the Copper Basin game Tuesday January 27 will receive a FREE Zoo Crew t-shirt.

Friday night Mr. Tate will be hosting and DJing the Halloween dance for teens at the Hiwassee gym. It will start at 9 and end at 12. Please invite any teen for a safe Halloween. 

Picture makeup day is this Monday, Nov.3rd. If you are a senior who has not had a senior portrait taken for yearbook, this is your last chance . If you are an underclassman this is your last chance. If you are an underclassman who missed your school picture day, be prepared to be photographed Monday. If you are a new faculty member or a teacher who would like a new and improved mugshot for this year's annual, Monday is the day.

Prior to 8am each morning admits are written on the stage in the cafeteria with Coach Weiss. Remember you only have 5 days after you are absent in order to receive an excused admit.

Sept.25th - Oct. 1st 

Attention: Any student who has taken or enrolled in an upper level history course and has an A or B average is invited to join the History Honors Society. there will be an enrollment meeting in Ms.Cleveland's room on Wednesday, Oct. 1st after school.

The ACT Plan Assessment will be Wednesday, Oct 1st beginning @8:00 for all Sophomores. Students will report to their 2nd period , then will be dismissed via intercom. The assessment will take approximately 140 minutes . 

The Tennessee College of Applied technology in Athens would like to invite all Seniors to visit their campus on Saturday, Oct 18th from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. More information will be given about their programs and scholarships and the TN Promise Scolarship. pizza will be provided. 

Sept. 20th - Sept. 27th

Quarterback Club is selling Homecoming T-Shirts in the Quarterback Club booth at the Powder Puff game on Monday night.

As part Homecoming, Student Council is having a canned food drive to benefit Sweetwater Area Ministries from September 9th - September 24th . Homecoming points will be awarded.

ACT Plan Assessment Pre-Coding will be during seminar in the cafeteria on Wednesday, September 17 for all classified 10th graders. Students will go to to their seminar classes and then will be dismissed to the cafeteria via intercom. Teachers will be their class in to the cafeteria and have them sit together as a class. If you have any questions see Ms. Harris in Guidance.

The Financial Aid workshop scheduled for Sept.18 With Eric Farmer has been changed to Oct.20th

All student drivers must purchase a parking pass by Sept.12th and displayed by Sept.15th. Any driver that doesn't have parking pass are not allowed to park on campus.

August 25th - 29th

The J.V game scheduled for Aug. 25 versus Greenback has been cancelled. There will be no J.V game tonight.  

Students that want to join Key Club, meet this Tuesday to sign up in Mr.Thompson's room - immediately after school. 

Any student who hasn't turned in a free/reduced lunch form please do so ASAP. Even if you don't qualify we get credit for every form turned in. 

Freshman participants of talent search introduced in attending Foundation Day may pick up permission ships in the office.
