Black Forest Ham Quiche

  • 2 c. of shredded black forest ham
  • 2 c. Jarlsberg cheese (can substitute Swiss)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. whipping cream
  • 1 T. flour
  • ½ c. red onion chopped
  • 2 T. fresh rosemary chopped to garnish on the top
  • 4 T. butter
  • 1 10 inch baked pie shell (blind pre-bake the pie crust)

Preheat oven to 325°.  Sauté onion in the butter until lightly brown. Spread onion mixture on the bottom of the pie shell.  Add ham, then cheese to onion layer.  Mix eggs, milk, cream and flour together in a large mixing bowl. Carefully pour mixture over cheese ham and onion layers.  Sprinkle rosemary on top.  Bake for 45 minutes or until completely set (some ovens may take much longer.)  If the cheese starts to brown too quickly before the quiche is set, cover with tented foil.  Enjoy!
