Rustic Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie


1 pie crust (unbaked) 9"

4 tablespoons melted, unsalted butter

4 large whole eggs

1/2 cup dark brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 cup golden corn syrup

1/2 cup pure maple syrup + some for drizzling

2 tablespoons bourbon or Jack Daniels Whiskey

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups broken pecan pieces


Preheat oven to 350 F. Place pie crust on plate, ruffle edges, and sprinkle pecans in empty shell.

In medium mixing bowl, whisk together all of the remaining ingredients and pour over pecans.

Bake until inserted knife tip comes out clean, about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Pecans will rise to the surface during baking.

Drizzle a few tablespoons of maple syrup over the pie. Especially delicious served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, but also divine at room temperature or cold.
