About SWE

For more than six decades, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) has given women engineers a unique place and voice within the engineering industry. Our organization is centered around a passion for our members' success and continues to evolve with the challenges and opportunities reflected in today's exciting engineering and technology specialties.

At Bradley University, attending most meetings is free! Some events and conferences require a national membership. Each semester we plan events that focus on developing professional skills, leadership, networking, outreach, and personal relationships. Events may include speakers, panel presentations, field trips, facility tours, fun competitions, and much more. The general meetings occur at least twice a month while school is in session and are available on the calendar.

In addition to general meetings, an outreach committee was developed.

Bradley SWE provides academic help as well. Over the years a fairly large bookcase of study files and books have accumulated in the SWE office. These usually include old labs, exams, homework, and notes. In addition to the official study files, most members of SWE are always happy to help out a fellow student if they've taken the same class before. Ask a SWE officer for more information on how to use the study file.
