In 2018 there was:

  • 14 Pinball tables to play
  • The Swavesey festival which also took place over the weekend and provided an alternative to pinball for family and friends and a wonderful evening of music and fireworks
  • The UK Pinball Cup Competition was held on Sunday between 12 and 4pm)
  • A Saturday evening pinball dinner
  • Charity Raffles on Saturday and Sunday

As usual there was no preregistration for the Sunday's UK Pinball Cup. Folk just arrived on Sunday at noon and signed up before the start at 1pm. Most machines were used for the early stage of the tournament but others were still open for everyone to play too.

This years sponsors included:

Access to the show was through the public bar, show times corresponded with the pubs opening hours.

The pinball tables were set to Freeplay and we relied on the good will of those attending to buy raffle tickets or donate into the collection buckets. As with every year to date everything collected has gone to charity.

This year our nominated charity was Prostate Cancer UK:

Prostate Cancer UK is a registered charity in England and Wales (1005541) and in Scotland (SC039332). Registered company 02653887.

We managed to beat last years total of £1190 which was raised for Mind, the mental health charity. Thanks to the generosity of those who attended and the good folk of Swavesey we raised £1255.05 for Prostate Cancer UK.

The Swavesey Pinball Weekend

In April 2006, the first East Anglian Pinball Show was held in a small village on the outskirts of Cambridge. Unashamedly laid back and low key, pinball fans came along to support the event and raise money for the Children's hospice at nearby Milton and, after the early death of our friend Nigel Hill, the British Heart Foundation. In recent years we have also supported other charities such as Mind.

Organised by Mark Squires who lives nearby and is an avid pinball collector, restorer and repairer the show is now in it's 12th year as a regular event on the Pinball event calendar.

The show is held in the tap room of the White Horse Inn in the village of Swavesey, an award winning traditional village pub. Every year there is a good mix of games for regular players to enjoy and to tempt those who may be new to pinball into finding out what pinball is all about.

The event has also become the home of the UK Cup competition and sometimes other rather interesting competitions designed with fun in mind! All are welcome to enter and play for the UK Pinball Cup and the competitions are suited to all ability levels and are also open to all.
