Baking time: 50'-55'


  • 1 cup butter in room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 vanilla
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 pinch salt

For the ganache you will need:

  • 100 gram chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream


In a bowl sift all the dry ingredients and add all the remaining.

Beat in low speed for 2 minutes and then in medium for 4 more minutes.

Pour the mixture in a greased and floured cake pan.

Bake in preheated oven at 180C for 50-55 minutes or until risen.

After baking leave 10 minutes in the pan before removing it.

For the ganache. Put the chocolate cut in pieces in a sauce pan along with the heavy cream over low heat.

Stir occasionally until melted and smooth.

Remove from heat and leave for a while to cool down.

Place the cake on a serving platter and drizzle with ganache.
