Inspiration can take any number of forms. It tends to be associated with art, in that it is often the springboard of creative endeavor. In time, the memory of its spark, joined by the hope of its re-ignition, urges the artist on through the later frustration and tedium needed in order to bring the work to fruition.

We can also be inspired by the knowledge that others, many of them renowned, have experienced the nadir of the sense of endless emptiness which we fear is about to engulf us. Thus, inspiration can be viewed as the seed in a soil, whether in a farmyard, desert or field. Although its growth might begin in the earth, far beneath its surface, given time and the right conditions, this plant stands a strong chance of thriving.
