As a part of the greater spiritual tradition of Yoga, & in solidarity with our affiliate Ashram in India, Savsti Yoga chooses not to register with the Yoga Alliance (read more about why here). Also, after many petitions requesting the YA improve their teacher standards and code of conduct in order to address multiple issues with power, appropriation, and sexual misconduct in  the yoga community, the Alliance finally announced plans to address the issues. Time will tell, if the organization can transform into a worthwhile professional resource for yoga teachers in the United States, we will reassess our position on the Yoga Alliance.
