Dr. Xiaoyuan Su is currently a professional data miner at Varolii Corporation, Seattle, USA. He received his PhD degree in Computer Science from Florida Atlantic University, USA, in 2008 (dissertation advisor: Dr. Taghi Khoshgoftaar), and his Master degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Alberta, Canada, in 2004. He received an MBA degree from University of Washington, USA, in June 2012. His research interests include data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence, recommender systems, statistical analysis, and business intelligence. He has published about 20 refereed journal papers and conference papers. He is a senior member of IEEE. Dr. Su is an editor for the Journal of Convergence Information Technology (JCIT) and three other journals. He was a session chair of the conferences PAKDD'11 and ICTAI'11, and has been a reviewer/PC member for more than 20 international journals and conferences.He also works with Dr. Russ Greiner and Dr. Xingquan (Hill) Zhu.


    - My book Collaborative Filtering Using Machine Learning and Statistical Techniques has been published by LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing in July 2013.

    - June 4th, 2012, I got my MBA degree in Technology Management from Foster School of Business, University of Washington.
    - March 14, 2012, I gave a talk on "Collaborative Filtering Using Machine Learning and Statistical Techniques" at Nanyang Technological University.
    - March 11-20, 2012, on the International Study Tour to Singapore and Beijing, with TMMBA faculty and students of the Foster School of Business at University of Washington.
    - 1st place winner of the Littlefield Technologies supply chain management competition (Team Summit) out of 12 teams of MBA in Technology Management students at UW, 11/2011.
    - Chair the Machine Learning session at the 15th Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD), Shenzhen, China, May 24-27, 2011
    - Chair the Personalization & Recommendation session and the Learning, Evaluation, and Optimization session at the 23rd IEEE International Conference on Tools with Artificial Intelligence (ICTAI), Nov. 7-9, 2011, Boca Raton, Florida, USA

    - I have published about 20 refereed journal and conference papers, and I have been a reviewer for more than 10 refereed international journals
