Sustainable Redmond: Join us!

The choices that we make today are shaping the world of tomorrow

Monday, April 25, 2016 from 6-8:30pm
at the Redmond Library

Five  years ago, the Redmond community met to explore what a Livable Redmond would look like.  Some of those aspirations were captured in broad City plans based on that community conversation on sustainability.  As we celebrate Earth Day, we invite you join us and review where we have been, how we measure progress and where we might be going environmentally.

Hosted by Sustainable Redmond, this community meeting will briefly outline elements of Redmond’s environmental planning, metrics of success, and how community voices can be heard. We expect this to be an educational gathering.

This meeting will also feature a presentation on how Redmond deals with the quality of our local aquifer from which we draw some of our drinking water, treatment of our stormwater to maintain the health of streams like Bear Creek, green infrastructure to efficiently manage stormwater in areas like Overlake and how increased flooding as an outgrowth of climate change can be minimized.

Everyone is invited to attend this informative conversation and to contribute recommendations that can enhance an environmentally sustainable future for Redmond.  RSVPs would be appreciated to
