Sustainable Intensification Conference

Biodiversity and ecological engineering for sustainable intensification of agriculture

Hotel Ngor Diarama, Dakar, Senegal, April 24th to 26th

More than half of global population growth between now and 2050 is expected to occur in Africa. Therefore, there is a need to find sustainable solutions to feed this increasing population and alleviate the predicted negative impact of global changes on crop production.

This 3-days international congress, jointly organized by the international joint laboratories IESOL (Intensification Ecologique des Sols Cultivés en Afrique de l’Ouest) and LAPSE (LMI Adaptation des Plantes et microorganismes associés aux Stress Environnementaux), the research and training partnership IAVAO (Innovation et Amélioration Variétale en Afrique de l'Ouest) and the SIIL (Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Sustainable Intensification), aims to present current approaches and research activities that might improve agricultural productivity and livelihoods in rural communities, increase resilience and mitigate land degradation as well climate change.
