Some of the Issues I Work With

There are many reasons why people decide to have counselling.

Some people come because they have experienced difficult or traumatic situations, whereas other people simply have a feeling that something’s not quite right with them and have no idea why.

The illustration shows some of the issues which bring people through the door, or which come up after they start their counselling work.

Often, it can be a relatively small thing which is the ‘straw that breaks the camel’s back’ and clients realise during counselling that there are unresolved issues which have been building up over the years.  This is especially common in very strong clients who give lots of support to others.
