My area of specialization is in Medieval philosophy, but I have general research and teaching interests in metaphysics, mind, and philosophy of religion. My research focuses on late-medieval discussions of topics in metaphysics and the philosophy of mind, often with special interest in William of Ockham's contribution to these topics. My research these days falls into three broad areas: (1) medieval theories of consciousness and self-knowledge, (2) questions surrounding Ockham's metaphysical (and meta-metaphysical) commitments, and (3) questions about the relationship between Ockham's views in philosophy of mind, on the one hand, and his metaphysics on the other.
