My area of specialization is in Medieval philosophy but I have general research and teaching interests in metaphysics, mind, and philosophy of religion. My research focuses primarily on the philosophy of William Ockham, and, more broadly, on later-medieval discussions of topics in metaphysics and the philosophy of mind. My research these days falls into three broad areas: (1) medieval theories of consciousness and self-knowledge, (2) questions about the relationship between Ockham's views in philosophy of mind, on the one hand, and his metaphysics on the other, and (3) debates between Ockham and his confrère, Walter Chatton, about issues in meta-metaphysics.
