Research Interests
Visual data excites me, and I am slowly turning into a data scientist now. I started in pure mathematics and spent MS and the first few years of my PhD learning Analysis, Topology, and Geometry. Now in the last decade I spent a lot of time in learning image processing and computer vision. My current primary research areas are Analysis, partial differential equations (PDEs), Optimization, Numerical Analysis, Image Processing, and Computer Vision. I am interested in VariationalPDE based image restoration, segmentation and qualitative analysis of images. I am also interested in computer vision techniques which has strong mathematical flavor. Currently, I am working on novel computer vision techniques for remote sensing/surveillance, biometrics, biomedical imagery. Apart from this, regularization techniques applied to biomedical image processing, statistical methods, color science, and differential geometric ideas for image processing are my recent interests.
