Masters Students


Alex Casarez, Master’s Student, Peabody College of Education and Human Development, Teaching and Learning Department, Vanderbilt University. Alex works with the SURGE team as administrative support for developing current programs and projects. He graduated from Rice University with a double major in Political Science and Middle Eastern Policy Studies. After graduating, he served in New Mexico as a 2-year Teaching Fellow with Citizen Schools, a national non-profit that provides Extended Learning Time for under-served middle schools. He's now pursuing a Master’s degree and Teaching Licensure with the goal of teaching middle school History or Math full time.
 



Conley Flynn, Masters Student, Peabody College of Education and Human Development, Teaching and Learning Department, Vanderbilt University. Conley is assisting the SURGE team by providing administrative support and assisting graduate students and post doctorates. She received her BA in Chemistry and Spanish at the University of Iowa in 2011. She worked in the Department of Biophysics and Molecular Physiology at the University of Iowa studying muscular dystrophy before coming to Vanderbilt University. Conley is now pursuing a Masters Degree and teaching license in secondary science education with plans to be a high school chemistry teacher.
