Good news and Good News
. Good news for Judy Eastaway & Wendy Hollis (not so good for us). Jude and Wendy will be moving to Bribie Island for the next part of their life adventures. Their last game will be 4 June and they will be missed by all at SPGC.
. Good news for the Committee: As Jude has resigned as our Committee Secretary, Lois Lanyon has agreed to fill in until the next committee election. Wendy's position as Treasure will be filled by Denise Lindfield for the same period.
Thank you to Denise and Lois for stepping up.
And thank you to Wendy and Jude for your assistance over the past years.
ALSO
From Thursday, 28 May, we will trial a 9-hole Thursday comp. We will start with just 8 players and reassess later to see if we have more interest.

ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS (RULE 16) including immovable obstructions
Free relief is available from all penalty area stakes and markers, all stakes and signs defining G.U.R, distance markers, protective screens, and all signage if they interfere with intended stance and intended area of swing. ALL GUR IS COMPULSORY. Signage must not be removed. All stakes (including green keeper stakes and metal loops). General Penalty applies.
Ornamental garden beds defined by white stakes and/or GUR signs, are areas where play is prohibited and free relief must be taken. Do not drive carts through GUR areas.
Optional drop without penalty in clearly defined water erosion ruts in bunkers. (Optional drop without penalty within the bunker, no nearer the hole).
Clearly defined machinery wheel marks (not buggy or cart), through the green but not in hazards. Only bare patches on the fairway marked with white paint or filled with new sand enable free relief.
Bare patches on the fairway: Only those patches marked with white lines or covered with fresh sand are to be treated as GUR. No relief otherwise.
A reminder when playing in the morning field on Tuesday & Thursday
If you hit off at an early time and you have completed your first 9 holes you must wait for the final tee time players to hit off before you start your second 9 holes. You may not push in front of the final playing group.

Update from the Club Captain
Be advised that our full course will be open from Thursday morning for the Ladies comp, and hopefully remain open for autumn/ winter.
MiScore electronic scoring will need to be adjusted accordingly.
Planning is underway for which greens next will be resurfaced.
Some local rule changes have been needed:
1 The roped off areas have been removed - play as general area.
2 Relief from bare patches on the closely mown fairways still applies.
3Lift and place, no nearer the hole for any bare patches on the rhs of 13 and at the front.
Looking forward to playing the full course again.

Weekend Pennant Final
(from Captain Narelle Wicks)
WOW how close we came to winning, but we are still winners in my eyes for we won on points.
Even thought we won on points it is determined by the amount of team games that are won, so the winners Emerald Lakes had 6.5 and we had 5.5.
Well done team.
I would like to thank my team for the hard work they had done and all the supporters following us through this season.
Today we had 4 wins and 1 lose.
Winners today Jo, Kylie, Diane and Carol.

Hey there Lois and team,
I just wanted to send a personal thank you to the amazing ladies at the Surfers Paradise Golf Club Women's Committee for your kind donation of $5,000 in support of Orange Sky.
Did you know $5,000 supports 17 shifts, 104 loads of laundry, and 139 hours of genuine and non judgemental conversation for our friends across Australia. This is absolutely amazing
Your support enables us to continue supporting those who are experiencing homelessness and hardship with access to free laundry, showers, and conversation.
Thanks again, and all the very best.
