MEDIUM SEA SHELL #1

MATERIALS: White (001) - or color of your choice - size 10 - Knit-Cro-Sheen, #7 steel crochet hook.

RND 1:

Work in continuous rnds, not joining, but marking each rnd as you work. Ch 2, 3 sc and 3 hdc in 2nd ch from hook.

RND 2:

1 sc in each of next 3 sc, 1 hdc in each of next 3 hdc.

RND 3:

2 sc in each of next 3 sc, 2 hdc in each of next 3 hdc.

RND 4:

This will be a "Bump" rnd. "1 sc, {ch-2 and 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook [ch-2 bump]},1 sc in the same st as the first sc" in each of next 6 sc; then "1 hdc, {ch-2 and 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook [ch-2 bump]}, 1 hdc in the same st as the first hdc" in each of next 6 hdc.

RND 5:

Keeping the bumps to the right side of the work and making sure not to put any stitches into the bumps, work 1 sc in each sc and hdc around to the marker. (24 sc)

RND 6:

1 sc in each of next 2 sc, ch-2 sc in 2nd ch from hook {bump}, 1 sc in the same sc as the last sc, around to the marker. (12 bumps)

RND 7:

Keeping the bumps to the right side of the work and making sure not to any stitches into the bumps, work 1 sc in each sc around to the marker. (36 sc)

ROW 8:

NOTE: YOU WILL WORK IN ROWS NOW TO THE END. Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each of next 36 sc.

ROW 9:

Repeat 8.

ROW 10:

Repeat 8.

ROW 11:

Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each of next 35 sc, 2 sc in last sc.

ROW 12:

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc in each sc across.

ROW 13:

Ch 1, turn, 1 sc and then 1 sc dec up to the last sc, 2 sc in the last sc.

ROW 14:

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc and then 1 sc dec up to the last sc, 2 sc in the last sc.

ROW 15:

Repeat 13

ROW 16:

Ch 1, 2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc and then 1 sc dec across.

ROW 17:

Repeat 14

ROW 18:

Repeat 14

ROW 19:

Repeat 13

ROW 20:

Repeat 12

ROW 21:

Ch 1, turn, 1 sc and then 1 sc dec across.

ROW 22:

2 sc dec's 1 sc.

ROW 23:

1 sc dec, 1 sc. Break off and turn the last row to the inside. Roll the end like a shell would be and tack in place then weave any loose ends in so they don't show. Stuff and shape.

RND 1:

Work in continuous rnds, not joining, but marking each rnd as you work. Ch 2, 3 sc and 3 hdc in 2nd ch from hook.

RND 2:

1 sc in each of the next 3 sc, 1 hdc in each of the next 3 hdc.

RND 3:

Repeat 2

RND 4:

2 sc in each of the next 3 sc, 2 hdc in each of the next 3 hdc.

RND 5:

This will be a "Bump" rnd. "1 sc, {ch-2 and 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook [ch-2 bump]}, 1 sc in the same st as the last sc", in each of the next 6 sc; "1 hdc, {ch-2 and 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook [ch-2 bump]}, 1 hdc in the same st as the last hdc" in each of the next 6 hdc. (12 bumps)

RND 6:

Keeping the bumps to the right side of the work and making sure not to put any stitches into the bumps, work 1 sc in each sc and hdc around to the marker. (24 bumps)

RND 7:

This will be a "Bump" rnd. 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc, ch-2 and sc in 2nd ch from the hook {bump}, 1 sc in the same sc as the last sc, around to the marker. (12 bumps)

ROW 8:

NOTE: YOU WILL WORK IN ROWS NOW TO THE END. Keeping the bumps to the right side of the work and making sure not to put any stitches into the bumps, work Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each of the first 2 sc; {skipping bumps now} 1 sc in each sc across.

ROW 9:

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc in each sc up to the last 2 sc, 2 sc in each of the last 2 sc.

ROW 10:

Repeat 8

ROW 11:

Repeat 9

ROW 12:

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in the first 2 sc, 1 sc and then 1 sc dec up to the last sc, 2 sc in the last sc.

ROW 13:

Repeat 9

ROW 14:

Ch 1, turn, 1 sc and then 1 sc dec up to the last sc, 2 sc in the last sc.

ROW 15:

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc and then 1 sc dec up to the last 2 sc, 2 sc in each of the last 2 sc.

ROW 16:

Ch 1, turn, 1 sc and then 1 sc dec across.

ROW 17:

Repeat 16

RND 18:

NOTE: WORK IN RNDS AGAIN. Catch thread through sc on the other side so you can work in rnds now. 1 sc in each sc around to the marker.

RND 19:

Repeat 18

RND 20 - 21:

Work sc dec's around until you have reached a point at the end (if you need to you can catch the thread through one of the st‘s and then sl st to reach a pointed end). Break off and weave in loose ends. Stuff and shape.

NOTE: YOU WILL WORK IN ROWS NOW TO THE END. Keeping the bumps to the right side of the work and making sure not to put any stitches into the bumps, Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc across.

ROW 9:

Ch 1, turn 2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc in each sc up to the last sc, 2 sc in the last sc.

ROW 10:

Repeat 9

ROW 11:

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc and then 1 sc dec across up to the last sc, 2 sc in the last sc.

ROW 12:

Repeat 9

ROW 13:

Repeat 11

ROW 14:

Ch 1, 1 sc in each sc across.

ROW 15:

Ch 1, turn, work sc dec's across up to the last sc, skip the last sc.

ROW 16:

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc in each sc across.

ROW 17:

Ch 1, turn, work sc dec's across up to the last sc, 2 sc in the last sc.

ROW 18:

Repeat 16

ROW 19:

Ch 1, turn, sl st back in 2 sc's, then work 1 sc in each sc across.

ROW 20:

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc dec's.

ROW 21:

Ch 1, turn, 1 sc dec. Attach to the other side with a sl st. Break off and weave in the ends. Stuff and shape.

1 sc in each of the next 2 sc, ch-2 sc in 2nd ch from hook {bump}, 1 sc in the same sc as the last sc*, cont. around from * to * marker. (9 bumps)

RND 8:

ROW 9:

Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc across up to the last sc; 2 sc in the last sc.

Ch 1, turn, *1 sc in next sc, 1 sc dec over next 2 sc*, cont. from * to * up to the last sc; 2 sc in the last sc.

ROW 13:

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc in each sc across.

ROW 14:

Ch 1, 1 sc in each sc up to the last sc; 2 sc in the last sc.

ROW 15:

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc in each sc across.

ROW 16:

Ch 1, turn, *1 sc in next sc, 1 sc dec over next 2 sc*, cont. from * to * up to the last sc; 2 sc in the last sc.

ROW 17:

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in the first sc; *1 sc in next sc, 1 sc dec over next 2 sc*, cont. from * to * across.

ROW 18:

Ch 1, turn, *1 sc in next sc, 1 sc dec over next 2 sc*, cont. from * to * up to the last sc; 2 sc in the last sc.

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in the first sc; *1 sc in next sc, 1 sc dec over next 2 sc*, cont. from * to * across.

ROW 20:

Ch 1, turn, *1 sc in next sc, 1 sc dec over next 2 sc*, cont. from * to * up to the last sc; 1 sc in the last sc.

ROW 21 through 22:

Repeat row 20.

Break off and weave in the ends. Stuff and shape.
