MASK APPLIQUE # 1

MATERIALS:

Small amount for each mask of size 10 Knit-Cro-Sheen or South Maid crochet thread in the colors of your choice. No. 7 steel crochet hook. Beads, sequins, ribbon, ribbon roses, etc. to decorate the masks with. Thread in matching colors or fabric glue to attach the appliqué’s. NOTE: Use up some of your scrap thread with this pattern. Pattern # 1 is more frilly around the edge than pattern # 2.

 

RND 1: (Form two chain loops for the eye holes). Ch 21, sl st to first ch for the first eye hole; {do not break off just cont. on from first loop} -- Ch 21, sl st to first ch of this 21 ch to form the second eye. Next you will ch 1, turn your work, then in loop work 10 sc, ch 3, 20 sc for the eye; in the next loop reverse the sequence of sts (20 sc, ch 3, 10 sc), join with a sl st to the first sc. NOTE: YOU WILL NOT TURN THE WORK FROM HERE - JUST WORK IN RNDS.

RND 2#: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in each of the next 9 sc (10 sc), 3 sc in ch 3 sp, 1 sc in each of next 20 sc; reverse sts for the other side, join with sl st to the first sc.

RND 3: Ch 1, sc in same st, 1 sc in each of next 10 sc (11 sc), 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 42 sc, 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 11 sc, join with a sl st to the first sc.

RND 4: Ch 1, sc in same st, * ch 3, sc in next sc, around from * join with a sl st to the first sc. Break off and weave in the ends.

MATERIALS:

Small amount for each mask of Knit-Cro-Sheen or South Maid crochet thread in the colors of your choice. No. 7 steel crochet hook. Beads, sequins, ribbon, ribbon roses, etc. to decorate the masks with. Thread in matching colors or fabric glue to attach the appliqué’s. NOTE: Use up some of your scrap thread with this pattern.

 

RND 1: Ch 21, sl st to the first ch (eye), ch 23, sl st to 21st ch from the hook (eye) [there will be 2 chs in between eyes]. Ch 1, turn work, in loop work 10 sc, ch 3, 20 sc for eye, 2 sc over ch 2, reverse sts for the other eye (20 sc, ch 3, 10 sc), 2 sc in 2 sc sp, join with a sl st to the first sc. NOTE: YOU WILL NOT TURN YOUR WORK FORM HERE - JUST WORK IN RNDS.

RND 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, 1 sc in next 9 sc (10 sc), 3 sc in ch 3 sp, 1 sc in each of the next 20 sc, sk next 2 sc, 1 sc in each of the next 20 sc, 3 sc in ch 3 sp, 1 sc in each of the next 10 sc, sk next 2 sc, join with a sl st in the first sc.

RND 3:

Ch 1, sc in the same st, 1 sc in each of the next 10 sc (11 sc), 3 sc in the next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 42 sc, 3 sc in the next sc, 1 sc in each of the next 11 sc, join with a sl st to the first sc.

RND 4:

Ch 1, sc in the same st, * ch 2, sk the next sc, sc in next sc, around from * join with a sl st to the first sc. Break off and weave in the ends.

 

 

MINI FAN APPLIQUE

MATERIALS:

Size 10 Knit-Cro-Sheen or South Maid crochet thread (one ball will make several) in the color of your choice (one fan to match each mask). You will need small amounts of thread for each fan as in the masks. No. 7 steel crochet hook. Sequins, ribbon, ribbon roses, etc to decorate the fans.

 

ROW 1: Ch 6, join with a sl st to the first ch to form a ring. ch 1, work 2 sc in the ring; ch 18, sl st in the 12th ch from the hook, ch 6 (this will from the handle); then in the ring work 2 sc, 1 hdc, 8 dc, 1 dc, join with a sl st to the first sc.

ROW 2#: Turn, ch 3 (first dc), 1 dc in each of the next 10 sts. (11 dc)

ROW 3: Turn, ch 4 (first dc - ch 1), * 1 dc in the next dc, ch 1; cont. from * end with 1 dc in top of ch 3. (11 dc - 10 ch-1 sps)

ROW 4: Turn, ch 3 ( first dc), * 1 dc in sp, 1 dc in dc, cont. from * end with dc in 3rd ch of ch 4. (21 dc)

ROW 5: Turn, ch 5 (first dc - ch 2), * sk first dc, 1 dc in next dc, ch 2 cont. from * end with 1 dc in top of ch 3. (11 dc - 10 ch 2 sps)

ROW 6: Turn, ch 3 (first dc), * 2 dc in sp, 1 dc in dc, cont. from * end with dc in 3rd ch of ch 5.

ROW 7: Turn, ch 6 (first dc, ch 3), * sk 2 dc, 1 dc in next st, ch 3, cont. from * end with 1 dc in top of ch 3.

ROW 8: Turn, * ch 4, sc in next dc, cont. from * end with sc in 3rd ch of ch 6.

ROW 9: Turn, ch 1. Work a shell of (1 sc , 1 hdc, 3 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc) in each ch 4 loop to the end. Break off and weave in the ends.

NOTE: You can make a small tassel to attach to the handle or add ribbon.
