WINGS AND FEATHERS

Row 1: With Green, Ch 19, Turn, 1 sc in second ch from hook and each ch across. (18 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in the first st, 1 hdc in the next st, 1 dc in each of the next 5 sts, 1 tr in the next st, 3 tr in the next 2 sts, 1 tr in the next st, 1 dc in each of the next 5 sts, 1 hdc in the next st, 1 sc in the last st.

Row 3: Feather row, Work as for the tail feathers across. (21 feathers) Break off.

NOTE:  You can also add one more row of feathers:  These will lay across the others and be worked in between the other feathers.  There will be less feathers because of working them in between the other stitches.  I hope this clears up a few problems people have had with this pattern.

Work one more row of feathers by Turning back to beg row of feathers. Attach thread through first sc and middle of first feather, work one feather then, sc back in same place, then sc through next sp and work another feather. Work as such to end. (10 feathers)

TOP AND UNDERSIDE OF TOP OF WING: Work up two pink wing pieces that will be sewn to both sides of wings. Ch 19, 1 sc in second ch from hook, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 dc in each of next 5 ch, tr in next ch, 3 tr in next ch, 3 tr in next ch, 1 tr in next ch, 1 dc in each of next 5 ch, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 sc in last ch. You can ch 1, turn, and attach the first piece to the green piece with sc's across then break off. Then when you make the second piece you can attach to the other side with sl sts. Or you can just sew one pink piece to each side with the clear thread.
