BARBIE WEDDING OUTFIT

Materials: Two large balls of white Knit-Cro-Sheen (or size 10 crochet thread in any brand), also a small amount of blue. Steel crochet hook # 7. Small fasteners such as snaps or Velcro. Small amount of gold elastic thread (or color of your choice).

Stitches: dc dec---Yo hook, insert hook in next st, draw up lp, yo hook, draw through 2 loops; twice, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook. [the last lps of each dc will be worked off together…making one dc].

sc dec

--- Insert hook in next st and draw up a lp; twice, yo hook and draw through all 3 lps on hook.

3 dc cluster

---Yo hook, insert hook in next st and draw up a lp, ((*yo and draw through 2 lps) twice, repeat from * 3 times)).

shell

---2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc.

split shell

---2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc.

Size: Fits 11 ½ inch fashion doll.

WEDDING GOWN

Row 1: Start at neckline. Ch 48, work 2 dc in 4th ch from hook (3 dc counting first ch 3), dc in next 21 ch, 3 dc in next ch; twice. [51 dc]

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 3 sc in same st as ch-1, 1 sc in each of next 24 sts, 3 sc in next st; twice. [57 sc]

Row 3: Ch 3 (first dc) 2 dc in same st (3 dc counting ch 3), 1 dc in each of next 11 sc, ch 3, sk next 7 sc (armhole), 1 dc in each of next 9 sc, 3 dc in next sc [center front], 1 dc in each of next 9 sc, ch 3, sk next 7 sc (armhole), 1 dc in each of next 11 sc, 3 dc in last sc. [49 sc , 2--ch 3 sps]

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in same st, 1 sc in each of next 13 dc, 1 sc in each of next 3 ch, 1 sc in each of next 3 ch, 1 sc in each of next 10 dc (26 dc and ch), 3 sc in next dc [center front], 1 sc in each of next 10 dc, 1 sc in each of next 3 ch, 1 sc in each of next 13 dc, 2 sc in top of ch 3. [59 sc]

Row 5: Ch 3, turn, dc in same st (2 dc counting ch 3), 1 dc in each of next 4 sc, 1 dc dec over next 2 sc, 1 dc in each of next 2 sc, 1 dc dec over next 2 sc, 1 dc in each of next 3 sc, 1 dc dec over next 2 sc, 1 dc in each of next 6 sc, 1 dc dec over next 2 sc, 1 dc in each of next 5 sc, 3 dc in next sc [center front] … reverse sts for the other side --- [dc in 5; dec; dc in 6; dec; dc in 3; dec; dc in 2; dec; dc in 4; 2 dc in last].

Row 6: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in same st, 1 sc in each of next12 dc, 1 sc dec over next 2 dc, 1 sc in each of next 12 dc, 3 sc in next dc [center front], 1 sc in each of next 12 dc, 1 sc dec over next 2 dc, 1 sc in each of next 12 dc, 2 sc in last st.

Row 7: Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in same st (2 dc counting ch 3), 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, 1 dc dec over next 2 sts, 1 dc; twice, 1 - 3 dc cluster st over next 3 sts; twice, 1 dc dec over next 2 sts, 1 dc; twice, 1 dc in each of next 5 sts, 3 dc in next st [center front] … reverse sts for the other side.

Row 8: Ch 1, turn, sc in same st, 1 sc in each of next 21 dc (22 sc counting starting sc), 3 sc in each of next dc [center front], 1 sc in each of next 22 dc.

Row 9: Ch 3, turn, dc in same st, 1 dc in each of next 5 sc, 1 dc dec, 1 dc; 4 times … 1 dc dec, 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, 3 dc in same st [center front] … reverse sts for the other side.

Row 10: Ch 1, turn, sc in each of next 6 sc, 1 sc dec; 4 times, sc in each of next 6 sc, 3 sc in next st [center front] … reverse sts for the other side.

Row 11: Ch 1, turn, sc in same st, *dc, ch 3, dc in next st, sc in next st - cont. from * to end. [17 -- ch 3 sps]

Row 12: Ch 1, turn, sl st to ch 3 sp; shell in each ch 3 sp to [center front], work split shell in center front, shell in each remaining ch 3 sp to end. [8 shells -- 1 split shell -- 8 shells]

Row 13: Ch 1, turn, sc in next 2 dc, *sc, ch 3, sc over ch 3 sp, 1 sc in next dc, 1 sc dec over next 2 dc, 1 sc in next dc -- cont. from * to center shell -- then work same except 1 sc in each of 2 middle dc -- cont again from * to end.

Rnd 15 through 31: Sl st to ch 3 sp, shell in each ch 3 sp around, join with sl st to top of ch 3, [18 shells]

Sew on snaps or fasteners of your choice.

NOTE: You could use this pattern in a pastel color and shorten it to use for brides maid dresses.

TRAIN

NOTE: Work as a separate piece. Then attach the train to the center waist on the back of the dress. [Leave opening of dress clear].

Row 1: Ch 12, dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 3, 2 dc in same ch (first shell), sk 3 ch, shell in next ch, sk 3 ch, shell in last ch.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sl st to ch 3 sp, split shell in each ch 3 sp.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sl st to ch 3 sp, shell in each ch 3 sp.

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sl st to ch 3 sp, split shell in each ch 3 sp.

Row 5 through 22: Repeat row 3. NOTE: If you want a longer train cont. this row until you have the length you want.

Row 23: sl st to center of ch 3 sp, shell in each shell up to last shell, sl st to center of last shell. [10 shells]

Row 24: Same except 8 shells.

Row 25: Same except 6 shells.

Row 26: Same except 4 shells.

Row 27: Same except 2 shells. Break off and weave in all loose ends.

SLIP

Row 1: Start at waist, ch 33, 1 dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch to end. [31 dc]

Row 2: Ch 4 (first tr), turn, 1 tr in same st (2 tr counting ch 4), 2 tr in each dc to end.

Row 3: Ch 4, turn, 1 tr in each tr to end. Sl st to top of first ch 4 and work in rnds now.

Rnd 4 through 18: Ch 4, 1 tr in each tr, join with a sl st to top of ch 4.

TOP OF SLIP

Row 1: Go back to the waist. Join thread and ch 1, 1 sc in each ch to end. [31 sc]

Row 2 and 3: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc to end.

Row 4: Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc in each st up to last, 2 dc in last st. [33 dc]

Row 5: Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc in each of next 15 dc, 2 dc in next dc [center front], 1 dc in each of next 15 dc, 2 dc in top of ch 3. [36 dc]

Row 6: Ch 3 (first dc), turn, 1 dc in each of next 15 dc (16 dc counting ch 3), (2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc (center front)], 1 dc in each of next 16 dc (the last dc will be worked in top of ch 3).

Row 7: Ch 3 (first dc), turn, 1 dc in each of next 15 dc (16 dc counting ch 3), 3 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc dec in next 2 dc, 3 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 16.

Row 8: Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in each dc to end.

Row 9: Ch 3, turn 1 dc in each of next 19 dc (20 dc counting ch 3), [1 dc dec in next 2 dc, 1 dc in next dc, 1 dc dec in next 2 dc [center front]], 1 dc in each of next 20 dc.

Row 10: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each of next 16 sts, 1 hdc in each of next 4 sts, 1 - 3 sc dec in next 3 sts, 1 hdc in each of next 4 sts, 1 sc in each of next 16 sts. Break off and weave in all the loose ends. Sew on snaps or fasteners of your choice.

HEAD COVERING

Rnd1: Ch 34, join to form a ring. Ch 1, sc in each ch around, join with a sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (first dc), 1 dc, ch 3, 2 dc in same st, *sk 2 sc, shell in next sc, cont. around from * to end with sk 3, join with a sl st to top of first ch 3. [11 shells]

Rnd 3: Sl st to ch 3 sp, shell in each ch 3 sp around, join with a sl st to top of ch 3. Break off and weave in all loose ends.

SHOES

Rnd 1: Ch 8, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of next 5 ch, 4 sc in last ch. Working on opposite side, 1 sc in each of next 5 ch, 2 sc in last ch, join with a sl st to first sc. [17 sc]

Rnd 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st around, join with a sl st to first sc.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, 1 sc in each of first 5 sts, [dc dec in next 2 sts; 3 times (for toe shaping)], 1 sc in each of next 6 sts, join with a sl st to first sc. [14 sts]

Rnd 4: Ch 3 (first dc), 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, [dc dec in next 2 sts; 2 times], 1 dc in each of next 5 sts, join with a sl st to top of ch 3. [12 sts]

Rnd 5: Ch 3 (first dc), 1 dc in each st around, join with a sl st to top of ch 3. Break off and weave in all loose ends.

UNDER PANTS

Row 1: Ch 36, dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch to end. [34 dc]

Row 2: Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in each dc to end.

Row 3: Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in same st (2 dc counting ch 3), 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, [2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of next 4 sts; 5 times], 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in top of ch 3. [42 dc]

NOTE: Join with a sl st to top of ch 3 on the other side and work in rnds.

Rnd 4: Ch 3 (first dc), 1 dc in each of next 5 dc (6 dc counting ch 3), 1 hdc in each of next 3 dc, 1 sc in each of next 3 dc, 1 hdc in each of next 3 dc, 1 dc in each of next 12 dc, 1 hdc in each of next 3 dc, 1 sc in each of next 3 dc, 1 hdc in each of next 3 dc, 1 dc in each of next 6 dc, join with a sl st to top of first ch 3.

Rnd 5 through 8: Ch 3 (first dc), 1 dc in each of next 2 sts (3 dc counting ch 3), 1 hdc in each of next 3 sts, 1 sc in each of next 12 sc, [center front], 1 hdc in next st, 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, 1 hdc in next st], 1 sc in each of next 12 sc, 1 hdc in each of next 3 sts, 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, join with a sl st to top of ch 3. Break off and attach crotch together in two middle sts on each side. Break off and weave in all loose ends.

GARTER

Rnd 1: With light blue crochet thread, ch 23, join to form a ring. Ch 3 (first hdc - ch 1), *skip 1 ch, ch 1, 1 hdc in next ch, cont. around from * end with ch 1, sl st in 2nd ch of beg ch 3.

Rnd 2: Sl st to ch 1 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, *ch 3, sc in next ch 1 sp, cont. around from * ending with a sl st in first sc. Break off.

Rnd 3: Turn to the other side and work the same as rnd 2. Break off and weave in all the loose ends.

Weave elastic thread through hdc rnd and tie or sew together.

FINISHING

You can decorate everything with ribbon roses if you wish or leave plain.
