JEANS JACKET FOR BARBIE DOLL

Size: Fits 11 ½ inch fashion doll.

MATERIALS: Knit-Cro-Sheen, 1 ball blue. Steel crochet hook # 7. Small beads for fasteners (or you can use snaps).

BEGIN AT NECK EDGE

Row 1: Ch 36, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across.

Row 2: Ch 3 (first dc), turn work; 1 dc in each of next 5 sc (6 dc counting ch 3), 4 dc in next sc, 1 dc in each of next 3 sc, 4 dc in next sc, 1 dc in each of next 13 sc, 4 dc in next sc, 1 dc in each of next 3 sc, 4 dc in next sc, 1 dc in each of next 6 sc.

Row 3: Ch 3, turn; 1 dc in each of next 6 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 5 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 15 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 5 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 7 dc.

Row 4: Ch 3, turn; 1 dc in each of next 7 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 7 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 17 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 7 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 8 dc.

Row 5: Ch 3, turn; 1 dc in each of next 8 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 9 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 19 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 9 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 9 dc.

Row 6: Ch 3, turn; 1 dc in each of next 9 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 11 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 21 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 11 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 10 dc.

Row 7:Ch 3, turn; 1 dc in each of next 10 dc, ch 6 (armhole) skip 17 sts, 1 dc in each of next 23 dc, ch 6 (armhole) skip 17 sts, 1 dc in each of next 11 dc.

Row 8: Ch 3, turn; 1 dc in each dc and ch.

Rows 9-14: Ch 3, turn; 1 dc in each dc.

BOTTOM BAND

Row 15: Ch 1, turn; working through front lps only, 1 sc in each st.

Rows 16-17: Working through both lps , ch 1, turn; 1 sc in each st. At the end of row 17, break off.

COLLAR

Row 1: [You will be working this rnd in the opposite side of the foundation chs.] With the right side of the jacket facing you, join thread in the 4th ch from the edge. Ch 1, sc in the first ch, 1 sc in each of next 29 chs, leaving the last 3 chs unworked.

Row 2: Ch 3, turn; 1 dc in same st, *1 dc in next sc, 2 dc in next sc, cont. from * to end.

Row 3: Ch 3, turn; 1 dc in each dc. Break off.

NOTE: If you want a wider collar work row 3 once more.

SLEEVES [work both the same]

NOTE: Work the sleeves from right side only.

Rnd 1: Join thread so that ch 3 is started on back side of jacket; work 1 dc in each dc and 2 dc over edge of side dc’s around, join with a sl st to top of first ch 3. (27 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 3, 1 dc in each dc, join.

Rnd 3: Ch 3, 1 dc dec, 1 dc in remaining sts, join.

Rnds 4-8: Ch 3, 1 dc dec, 1 dc in each dc, join.

Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in same place as joining, 1 sc, *skip 1 st, 1 sc dec over next 2 sts, cont. from * around, join.

Rnds 10-12: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join. Break off at end of rnd 12.

POCKETS [make 2]

Row 1: Ch 7, sc in second ch from hook and each of next 5 ch. (6 sc)

Row 2-4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc.

Row 5: Ch 1, turn; sc in first sc, hdc in next sc, 1 dc in each of next 2 sc, hdc in next sc, sc in next sc. Break off.

POCKET FLAPS [make 2]

Row 1: Repeat row 1 of pocket.

Row 2: Repeat row 2 of pocket.

Row 3: Repeat row 5 of pocket.

FINISHING

Join thread in any stitch at the bottom of the back of the jacket. Work around the complete edge of the jacket with sc’s…putting 1 sc over each sc…3 sc in each corner sc…and 2 sc over the edge of each dc. Break off and weave in any loose ends.

Sew pockets and flaps to front of jacket. Sew beads along front right side of jacket. Sew 1 bead at middle top of each pocket. Sew 1 bead at wrist of each sleeve.
