Japanese Delegation Visits to Superior

Student and Adult delegations from Ami-machi visited Superior in August 2019. the next delegation will visit Superior in the summer of 2021. Here is how you can get involved:

  • Be a host family for one of the student delegates for one week. Click here for the Host Family Application.

  • Help out with activities for the adult or student delegates during their visit.

  • If your business or organization would like to meet our delegates, or offer a tour of your facility, let us know!
Feel free to contact a Commission Board Member, or the Sister City Coordinator (see sidebar) if you are interested in any of these opportunities. Click the link above to read about recent Delegation visits from Ami-machi.

Superior Delegation Visits to Ami-machi

Every other year a group of students and adults from Superior/Douglas County visits Ami-machi for a
week of cultural enrichment and fun. Students stay with host families, and have the opportunity to visit unique sites, try new food, and make new friends. The next delegation will visit Japan in 2022.

Each year we seek Chaperones for the Student Delegation. These are usually parents of student delegates, or members of the community with an interest in supporting international exchange opportunities for local youth.

Outreach Activities

Commission Members strive to introduce Japanese culture to the community at a variety of public events.  Check our calendar above to find out what's coming up next.
