Step 1: Create a Google Plus Account (a.k.a. Google+ Profile)

Do you already have a Google+ account?
→ if yes, skip to step 2.

→ if no, please click here to create a Google+ account.

You will need to create a Google account if you do not already have one. Then, follow the prompts to set up your Google+ profile (Note: a Google+ account is different than Google or a Gmail account).
If my campus provides me with a Gmail address, can I use this account to create a Google+ profile?
Access to the “Google basics” differs from access to Google+. Even if your campus has a Google Apps for Education (GAFE) agreement, which provides you access to the “Google basics” such as Gmail and Google Drive, this does not provide you access to Google+ through your institutional Gmail address. There are a few exceptions where a campus issued Google account account does grant access to Google+. Learn more about campus partnerships with Google Apps For Education. A non-institutional Google account may be needed to participate in the TOEP Community.

Next Steps?

Explore and Reflect on Your Learning

Complete the Lifelong Learning Discovery Exercise and then complete the 3 Discovery Activities that you selected as your focus. Then, share your learning with other participants. To complete the project requirements you also need to submit a post that summarizes your experiences and claim your TOEP Mastery badge. Additional information is available on the FAQ page.

Support Your Colleagues in the TOEP Google+ Community

As you participate in the project, please regularly comment on your colleagues' posts. Our goal is to both (a) share our learning experiences, and (b) support others as they explore TOEP resources. This creates a learning community in which we are jointly vested in each other's progress. There are iTunes gift cards available as incentives that will be awarded through a peer-review process to recognize those who provide the best mentoring and support to others. To substitute for applause or laughter, use the +1 buttons in Google+ and on your favorite websites. This is another way to give someone's post your 5-star review.

Remember to have fun!
