Community Gardening

Community Gardening

Community gardeners collectively assume responsibility to improve their neighborhoods, initiate a sense of pride in their surroundings, and grow fresh, organic food close to home. Stapleton residents currently have two options for community gardening nearby:
  • Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) Stapleton Greenway Garden at 7790 East 23rd Ave (and Syracuse Street)
    • A $50 yearly fee includes plot, compost and access to water
    • 10 required work days per season
    • For more information, or to request a plot visit
  • The Urban Farm (TUF) Community Gardens at 10200 Smith Road ( just west of Havana Street)
    • TUF Community Garden members will have access to other Urban Farm amenities (gardening and composting workshops) and their children can participate in TUF programs, space permitting (e.g. Children’s Garden, 4H, Embracing Horses, Fun on the Farm workshops).  Composted manure provided at no extra charge.
    • TUF gardening is chemical-free.
    • Plots for TUF members are available in different sizes (small $40, Medium $50, Large $60), annual TUF membership is $35
