William Roberts (“Bill Roberts”) is a community-centered ECE-8 grade school committed to academic excellence, individual creativity, and civic responsibility where all learners thrive. Roberts is led by the school’s principal, Patricia Lea, and has a highly dedicated staff of teachers and administrators and an active community of parents who are very involved with the school.
Children in grades K through 5 learn through a Core Curriculum that incorporates Denver Public Schools' (DPS) Literacy Program and Everyday Mathematics. Children in grades 6 through 8 experience a high-quality alternative to a large Middle School without sacrificing electives and academic rigor, including a transition to Connected Math and an emphasis on Service Learning. More information about these programs is available in the Mission and Vision section of the Roberts’ website. Kids also attend “specials” during the day, which include physical education, music, art, library, Spanish (5-8th grade), and drama.

Roberts has an “advanced kindergarten” program. This program
offers accelerated learning for children with advanced reading or
math skills. Advanced kindergarten is not part of the “highly
gifted and talented” program at DPS. Children must test into the
program and applications are typically due in December. Roberts’
advanced kindergarten is open to all children in the northeast
Denver area, but priority goes to children residing in Stapleton.
Enrichment programs typically extend the child’s day 1 ½ hours
and are designed to provide a fun learning or athletic experience
for kids. Please see My Enrichment
