How to Apply to Denver Public Schools (DPS) in Stapleton

For the 2014-2015 school year, Stapleton residents are guaranteed enrollment for Kindergarten (half day) and above grades in one of the five Stapleton neighborhood schools: Westerly Creek (ECE3 - 5th grade), Bill Roberts (ECE3 - 8th grade), Swigert International School (ECE3 - 5th grade), Isabella Bird Community School (ECE3 - 2nd grade), or High Tech Elementary School (ECE3 - 1st grade).  Enrollment in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) classes is determined by a lottery.  First round of choice applications are available at DPS schools and online starting in December 1, 2013, with applications due by January 31, 2014.  Please return the completed application to the office of your school of choice.

Note: Denver Public Schools offers families the opportunity to have their children apply to a traditional DPS school that is not the school which serves their residence (neighborhood school). Should you want your child to attend a school other than the Stapleton neighborhood schools, you may apply to another school using the School of Choice application. In addition to traditional neighborhood schools DPS also offers Charter, Magnet, Innovative, and Gifted and Talented school options.

How to Apply for the 2014-2015 School Year

Parents will complete one form which ranks their top five school choices.  The form is due January 31, 2014.  Around the 1st of March, you will receive a letter of acceptance to only one DPS school.
To apply for grades 1-12, please use the applications below.

Please note that your first school of choice, once you are enrolled, will then become your neighborhood school. For example, should you choose to enroll at Bill Roberts then Bill Roberts becomes your neighborhood school – should you later decide to change schools and enroll at Westerly Creek you would need to complete another School of Choice application. Changing to another school is subject to space and availability.
