Leviticus 15:19-23 "When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening.  Anything she lies on during her period will be unclean. Whoever touches her bed must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean till evening. Whoever touche anything she sits on must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean till evening. Whether it is the bed or anything she was sitting on, when anyone touche s it, he will be unclean till evening."




And they ask thee about menstruation. Say: It is harmful; (

so keep aloof from women during menstrual discharge and go not near them until they are clean. But when they have cleansed themselves, go in to them as Allah has commanded you. Surely Allah loves those who turn much (to Him), and He loves those who purify themselves (Qur’an 2:222).

Narrated Urwa: 'Aisha told me that she used to comb the hair of Allah's Apostle while she was in her menses, and he was in Itikaf (in the mosque). He would bring his head near her in her room and she would comb his hair, while she used to be in her menses." (Bukhari – Book of Menstrual periods, vol. 1 Book 6).

Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet used to lean on my lap and recite Qur'an while I was in menses (Bukhari).
