Food Laws

Jesus equated swine with filth: Matthew 7:6 "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." (KJV)

Leviticus 11:7-8 "And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the {cud;} he is unclean to you.  8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcasses shall ye not {touch;} they are unclean to you." (KJV)

Deuteronomy 14:7-8 "Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven {hoof;} as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the {hoof;} therefore they are unclean unto you.  8 And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase." (KJV)

Isaiah 65:2-4 "I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own {thoughts;}  3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my {face;} that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of {brick;}  4 Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their {vessels;}" (KJV)

Isaiah 66:17 "They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD." (KJV)

And Jesus said: Matthew 5:17 "17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." (KJV)

But Christians take precedence to the words of Paul:

Paul abolished the Law: Ephesians 2:14-15 "For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between {us;}  15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in {{ordinances;} for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making {peace;}" (KJV)

Romans 14:20 "For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are {pure;} but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence." (KJV)

However, Jesus said those who broke the commandments of God would be found least in the Kingdom of God:

Matthew 5:19 " Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." (KJV)

That is why the true followers of Jesus did not eat unclean foods, such as swine, a reason why Peter said: Acts 10:14 “I have never eaten anything unpure or unclean”
