"Dek Hor" or "Dorm" has been selected by the International Film Festival of Marrakech committee to participate in the competition with other 14 movies from different countries around the world. The official screening day was on December 6th, 2006 at Palais des Congres du Marrakech (the Convention Center of Marrakech) which served as the festival head-quarter with 1,500 seats capacity convention hall.

 Roman Polanski is the jury president of this year IFFM competition and the awards were announced on the night of December 9th, 2006 at the closing ceremony. Here are the list of the award winners:

  • ETOILE D'OR (Gold Star): DER ROTE KAKADU (The Red Cockatoo) by Dominik Graf (Germany)
  •  JURY PRIZE : HIRTIA VA FI ALBASTRA (The Paper Will Be Blue) by Radu Muntean (Romania)
  • BEST ACTRESS : FATOU N'DIAYE for the film UN DIMANCHE A KIGALI (A Sunday in Kigali) by Robert Favreau (Canada)
  • BEST ACTOR : MAX RIEMELT for the film DER ROTE KAKADU (The Red Cockatoo) by Dominik Graf (Germany)

Even though "Dek Hor" didn't win any award, it received a positive review from the audiences and journalists who had a chance to watch the movie. To be able to introduce Thai movie to an international audience by participating at the film festival could be considered as an award itself.
