Hazelnut Swirl Banana Bread

Makes one loaf

  • 3 very ripe, extremely spotty bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 c. unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1-1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. hazelnut spread (i.e. Nutella)
1) Preheat oven to 350 F. Line 9x4 loaf pan with parchment paper or coat generously with nonstick cooking spray and set aside. 

2) Mix bananas, butter, sugar, egg and vanilla in mixing bowl and beat until well combined. In separate bowl, whisk together flour, soda and salt; stir into banana mixture in about two additions and continue mixing until just incorporated. 

3) Pour batter into loaf pan. Spoon hazelnut spread over batter and swirl. Bake for 50-60 minutes. Allow to cool in pan about 10 minutes, then remove to wire rack to cool completely.
