Phil Stearn

Phil studied at Suffolk College for two years specialising in ceramics towards the end of the second year.  After leaving Suffolk College in 1993 he went to work at the Le Dieu Pottery in Norwich for one year.

He then studied ceramics for three years at West Surrey College of Art and Design followed by a one year PGCE teaching course.

Phil has been teaching at Claydon High School since 1988. During his first year he was an Artist in Residence.

He ran a Pottery Evening class for seven years and has lectured and tutored on Suffolk Education Authority courses as well as privately run workshops.

Throughout Phil’s teaching career he has been continually producing his own artwork in a variety of media and has tried to exhibit regularly. He still works in ceramics occasionally but most work is now: drawings, mixed media and photography.
