I am an Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, with a very person centred focus.   This means I can offer you different therapeutic approaches, as and when it maybe helpful for you.  However I will focus in the main on where you are, your feelings, needs and aims.  As we get to know each other, we will build a relationship which will be fundamental to your healing.

For those who want to know more about the therapeutic approaches that I am trained in, they include person centred therapy, psychodynamic therapy, transactional analysis, the human givens approach, mindfulness, compassion focused therapy,  behavioural activation and cognitive behavioural therapy including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I believe it is possible to live life on life’s terms, in quiet awareness with acceptance, flexibility and resilience.

The name of my website comes from a quote from Bill W, who was a co founder of Alcoholics Anonymous.   In 1958, after years of sobriety and long term depression, he wrote an article in Grapevine (the AA magazine), which ends-

“Nowadays my brain no longer races compulsively in either elation, grandiosity or depression.  I have been given a quiet place in bright sunshine”
