In June 2018 Australia’s US lackey Liberal Party-National Party Coalition Government and its US lackey Labor Opposition passed draconian, civil rights-violating espionage and foreign influence legislation that is implicitly aimed squarely at China, a country that is Australia’s biggest trading partner and that denies such illicit activity. However US lackey Mainstream Australia utterly ignores the huge actuality of perversion and subversion of Australia by the US, the UK, Zionists and Apartheid Israel. Australia has a bad, 2-century record of racist xenophobia and presently a US-beholden Australia in the grip of anti-China China-bashing and Sinoophobia. China no doubt seeks to influence Australian policy makers and institutions, to gain information about Australia, to interact with its 1.3 million-strong Australian Chinese diaspora and to interact with the 160,000 Chinese students studying in Australia. Indeed other countries are variously doing the same “influencing” in relation to culture (e.g. the French Alliance Francaise and the German Goethe Institute) and, of course, trade and diplomacy. The Australian Government has every right and indeed a duty to police foreign activities in Australia. However the Australian Government should not demonise 1.3 million Chinese Australians and, while keeping tabs on China and indeed all countries, should not blindly follow anti-China Trump America in provocatively singling out China for abuse, especially since China is Australia's largest trading nation and since alleged Chinese foreign interference in Australia offences are negligible compared with those of the US, UK, Zionists and US-backed Apartheid Israel.
Indeed former Palestinian Ambassador to Australia, Ali Kazak, has stated : “There is nothing ASIO [Australian Security and Intelligence Organization] suggests any Chinese lobby of doing that the Israeli lobby has not been doing for over 30 years. Any Chinese lobby is child’s play in contrast to the well-established Israeli lobby. No country has more interfered, spied and endangered Australia’s security, sovereignty and the integrity of its national institutions than Israel and its powerful lobby. By their own admission, the lobby receives funds from Israeli institutions, coordinates and cooperates with the Israeli government and embassy, and has 'established a long tradition of strong public advocacy on behalf of Israel' to shape the opinion of members of the Australian public, media organisations and government officials in order to advance Israel’s own political objectives” [1].
The Australian Coalition Government has over-reached in advancing widened and draconian anti-espionage laws that are implicitly anti-Chinese, curb and criminalise free speech (including free speech by activists, journalists and whistleblowers in the national interest), non-specifically ban certain foreign political donations ( e.g. in realistic prospect from Chinese corporations but not from UK, US or Israeli corporations), have draconian penalties for activist demonstrators on Government property, expand the legal definition of espionage to include all behaviours it considers “harmful to national security”, and include draconian plans for a compulsory and all-encompassing register of “foreign agents” that amounts to a compulsory and false register of “people the government doesn’t like” [1-5]. Thus a scientist/ scholar in receipt of overseas research funds or a human rights or conservation NGO in receipt of overseas support would have to falsely register as a “foreign agent” or face prosecution (with draconian custodial punishment attached) by US lackey Liberal Party-National Party Coalition or Labor (aka Lib-Lab) Australian Governments that are clearly, demonstrably and explicitly themselves craven “foreign agents” for the US and more covertly for the UK, Zionists and US-backed Apartheid Israel.
