Cake Pops

1 baked box cake

1/2 can of store bought frosting

1 package of lollipop sticks

1 package of candy melts

sprinkles (optional)

1 piece of Styrofoam

Bake cake according to the package instructions

Once the cake is cooled, break it apart and put into your stand mixer. Use your stand mixer to crumble the cake.

Once the cake resembles course bread crumbs, add 1/2 a can of store bought frosting into the stand mixer and mix until the mixture starts to come together, resembling a dough like appearance.

Prepare a cookie sheet with freezer paper.

Take about 1Tb of the cake mixture and roll a ball in your hand.

Arrange onto the prepared sheet. Make sure all your balls are the same in size.

Stick your rolled balls into the freeze for about 10-15 minutes.

You can use this time to clean up and wash your bowl.

Take about 1/4 cup of candy melts and place them into a small bowl.

Microwave for a few seconds and mix until melted.

Remove your cake balls out of your freezer.

Swirl one end of the lollipop stick in the melted candy melts and  stick them into the balls.

Stick the balls back into the freezer for about 20 minutes.

Melt the rest of your candy melts, mix until melted (careful not to burn)

Prepare a piece of Styrofoam

Prepare any sprinkles you will be using.

Swirl the cake pop in the candy melts and tap off any access on the side of the bowl.

(if your candy melts get hard just stick them back into the microwave for a couple seconds)

Dunk the cake pop into sprinkles while they were still wet

Poke each stick in your styrofoam to dry standing up

They dry really quick, then I just moved them into a vase.

I like to eat them cold, so I store them in the fridge.
