Our Parish Priest

Father Vladimir Lange was born in Kansas City, MO on Dec. 15th 1976.  He grew up in the same house his whole life, with his parents Snezana (Oksevski) Lange and George Lange, along with his siblings, Tatiana and Aleksandar.  His grandma (Baba) Danica Oksevski lived with them too.  His mom born in Belgrade, Serbia and came to America when she was 8.  His dad grew up in Kansas, and was raised in a protestant church and converted to the Orthodox faith before getting married.  Fr. Vladimir was baptized and raised in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Kansas City, KS. (now Lenexa, KS.).  He attended high school in Kansas City, at Park Hill High School and graduated in 1995. In 2001 he graduated with his Bachelors Degree in Parks, Recreation and Natural Recourse Management from the University of Missouri. While in college he had grown much more interested in his faith and church.  He decided to study Theology and went to get his Masters of Divinity degree at St. Vladimir’s Seminary in New York.  However, he was only there for one semester.  He returned and worked in Kansas City for a few years before taking a pilgrimage to his countries of ancestry, including, Germany and Serbia.  It was then he became connected to many relatives whom still lived in Serbia and gained a whole new perspective on his heritage.  During this time in Europe he also visited Greece and saw many holy sights including Holy Mount Athos. Visiting the Holy Mountain had changed his life and ultimately helped him decide to finish his degree in Theology.  This time he went to Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline (Boston) MA in the fall of 2005.  He finished his studies and earned his Masters of Divinity Degree in May 2008.  The summer before his last year of study, he met his wife Rebecca. She became Orthodox on Holy Saturday 2008.  They were married on June 21, 2008, and moved to Arkansas where she is from. They have four children together, Alexis, Sophia, Joshua and Gabriel. Father Vladimir was ordained a deacon by Metropolitan Christopher in March 2009.  He served as a deacon (on loan) at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church in Springdale AR for almost 2 years. On November 7, 2010 he was ordained to the priesthood by His Grace Bishop Longin and assigned to St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Hibbing, MN in March of 2011.  He served there for 5 years before being assigned to his current parish, St’s Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church of South Bend on Feb 1st, 2016.
