What is the Human Library?

Don't judge a book by its cover... read a life instead!

Thanks for your interest in this exciting activity! STSJLA will be hostin
g the first Human Library in the USVI at the Read on the Green Community Day on Saturday, April 10 from 12 noon to 5 pm!! This year's theme for National Library Week is "Communities Thrive @ Your Library", and this project is designed to highlight the diversity that exists within our community.

The Human Library works like a typical library, except that people from minority, misunderstood, stereotyped and/or groups that suffer from prejudices within their respective communities
volunteer to become “books” so that members of the public can “check them out” for a designated time of enlightening discussion and interaction.  For more information about the original concept, feel free to visit the Human Library's website
at: http://human-library.org/ .

Here on our website, you can browse through our Catalog of "human books" for descriptions of titles that interest you.  And after the Human
Library is over, you can tell us your thoughts about the experience.

Thanks, in advance, for coming out to share this awesome experience with us.  See below for the attached flyer and please share it with everyone. We look forward to turning lives into open books, one person
at a time!
